10K and 5K We Run Rome regulations
31 December 2026 - 15th Edition

Atleticom SSD organizes the 15th edition of We Run Rome on Thursday 31 December 2026, national-level road running event, a competitive over the distance of 10 km and non-competitive over the distances of 10 and 5 km, which takes place under the auspices of FIDAL, is included in the national calendar and has been awarded the FIDAL Nazionale GOLD recognition.
It enjoys the patronage of CONI, Sport and Health, Roma Capitale and the Lazio Region.

By registering for the race, the Athlete declares that he has read and fully accepts these regulations .

The competition regulations may undergo changes based on the provisions of the competent institutions and in compliance with state and federal regulations (FIDAL), therefore, we invite all participants to consult them and always stay updated.

Any changes will be appropriately communicated to registered athletes via the event website www.werunrome.com or via the event's official social pages. 

1 – MEETING POINT

The We Run Rome village will be open from 10:00 a.m. in the area adjacent to the “Nando Martellini” Stadium at the Terme of Caracalla. Participants will have the opportunity to visit the stands of the event partners and enjoy the offerings of the food trucks present.

The start of the competitive and non-competitive 10 km race will be given in Via delle Terme di Caracalla at 2:00 p.m. The non-competitive 5 km race will start a few minutes later.

2 – REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITIVE 10K

Athletes Registered in Italy
According to the provisions of the "Regulations for the Organization of Events" issued by FIDAL, the competitive event is reserved for Italian/foreign athletes who are at least 16 years old on the date of the event (thousandth of age), provided they meet one of the following requirements:

  1. Athletes registered for 2026 with companies affiliated with FIDAL who are at least 16 years old;

  2. Athletes registered with a Sports Promotion Organization (Athletics section), recognized by CONI, in holding of an EPS Runcard - runcard.com (valid as sports insurance and permission to compete), limited to athletes who are at least 20 years old (thousandth of age); participation is in any case subject to:

    The presentation of a medical certificate of competitive fitness specific for athletics, valid on the date of the event, which must be uploaded at the time of registration . The medical certificate for non-resident foreigners can be issued in their own country, but the same tests required by Italian law must have been carried out: a) medical examination; b) complete urinalysis; c) electrocardiogram at rest and after effort; d) spirography.

  3. Athletes in possession of FIDAL Runcard - runcard.com (valid as sports insurance and permission to compete), limited to athletes who have reached the age of 20 (thousandth of age), participation is in any case subject to :

    The presentation of a competitive medical certificate specifically for athletics, valid on the date of the event, which must be uploaded at the time of registration. The medical certificate for non-resident foreigners can be issued in their own country, but the same tests required by Italian law must have been carried out: a) medical examination; b) complete urinalysis; c) electrocardiogram at rest and after effort; d) spirography.
  4. Disabled athletes registered for 2026 with clubs affiliated to one of the following Paralympic Sports Federations recognised by the CIP (Italian Paralympic Committee):

    - FISPES (Italian Federation of Paralympic and Experimental Sports);

    - FISDIR

    In this case, athletes must present a copy of their valid membership card (2026), or a declaration of membership on club letterhead with stamp and signature of the president.

    For safety reasons related to the conformation of the route in the City, participation by handbike athletes is not allowed, whether they are UCI, FCI, EPS or for other recognised organisations or even non-members.

    Foreign athletes wishing to take part in the event must comply with current Italian legislation on health protection and compulsory insurance cover. In the event of registration of athletes in an Olympic wheelchair with a declared race time of less than 1h30', the organisation reserves the right to provide for a controlled pace, as the city course will be closed to traffic according to the passage times.

    Pursuant to FIDAL regulations, participation in the competitive race with only a competitive medical certificate is not permitted. Medical certificates that do not specifically indicate Athletics as the sport practiced are also not accepted.

Athletes Registered Abroad
Italian athletes registered abroad who are at least 16 years old  (thousandths of age) on the date of the event may participate, provided they meet one of the following requirements:

  1. Athletes in possession of FIDAL Runcard - runcard.com (valid as sports insurance and permission to compete), limited to athletes who are at least 20 years old  (thousandth of age), combined with a valid competitive medical certificate specifically for athletics, valid on the date of the event, which must be uploaded upon registration. participation is however subject to:

Athletes registered with clubs affiliated with foreign Athletics Federations recognized by World Athletics (WA), in this case they will have to upload a self-certification document attesting to their membership when registering (the appropriate form can be requested from the email address This email address is being protected from spambots. 3 – REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE NON-COMPETITIVE 10K AND 5K

The recreational motor event includes two non-competitive tests on distances of 10 km and 5 km respectively.

The 10 km race is open to anyone who is at least 14 years old on the date of the event.

There is no age limit for the non-competitive 5 km race; children up to 13 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.

For the participation of minors, a special authorisation form signed by a parent/legal guardian must be completed and uploaded during registration. The form can be downloaded online directly during the registration phase or can be requested by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. Registration for the event implies the tacit declaration of self-certification of physical fitness for non-competitive sports activity in accordance with the relevant regulations in force and therefore exempts the organisers from requesting a medical certificate.
The participant relieves the Organising Committee and its partners of all responsibility regarding his or her physical fitness to take part in the event and of all liability, both civil and criminal, for damage to persons and/or property caused by him or her or caused to him or her by participation in the race. He also declares that he grants his authorisation to use any of his images relating to his participation in the event for any legitimate use without remuneration.

Participation in the non-competitive races is allowed with manually pushed wheelchairs, while bicycles and any other means of transport are not permitted.

For the non-competitive 10 km race, no ranking will be drawn up, but only an alphabetical list with the athlete’s recorded finishing time.
For the non-competitive 5 km race, no timing service and no ranking will be provided.

The non-competitive 10 km race must be completed within a maximum time of 90 minutes, while the non-competitive 5 km race must be completed within a maximum time of 75 minutes.

4 – REGISTRATION

Registration can be done online on the www.werunrome.com portal until December 26th.
The Organising Committee reserves the right to close registrations early or accept new ones after the closing date, at its sole discretion.

The amount of the registration fee will vary according to the reference period, with priority given to those who register early.

Should race bibs still be available, in-person registration will also be possible during bib collection days and on the day of the event itself. Any such availability will be announced on www.werunrome.com or through the event’s social media accounts.

REGISTRATION FEES

   10 Km Competitive 

  • €18.00 until 15 April;
  • €20.00 from 16 April to 31 July;
  • €22.00 from 1° August to 18 November;
  • €25.00 from 19 November to 18 December;
  • €28.00 from 19 to 26 December.

10 km Non-Competitive

  • €18.00 until 15 April;
  • €20.00 from 16  April to 31 July;
  • €22.00 from 1° August to 18 November;
  • €25.00 from 19 November to 18 December;
  • €28.00 from 19 to 26 December. 
     

5 Km Non Competitive (for all ages)

  • €15.00 until 31 July;
  • €18.00 from 1 August to 18 December;
  • €20.00 from 19 December to 26 December.

GROUP REGISTRATIONS (not companies)

PARTICIPATION OF ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES

The event is open to persons and athletes with disabilities, who may participate free of charge. To register, a request must be sent by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., indicating the federation and functional classification of the athlete.

A copy of a valid CIP/FISPES – CIP/FISDIR membership card for the date of the event must be submitted.

PRE-RACE WHEELCHAIR CHECKS

Race control is entrusted to FISPES and FIDAL Race Judges, who shall have the power to disqualify athletes who fail to comply with the instructions given.

The lead vehicle will dictate the race speed and must never be overtaken by competitors.

The use of a helmet is mandatory for wheelchair athletes, and the use of a guide bib/vest is mandatory for guide athletes.

AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE THREE TYPES OF RACE:

10 K Non-Competitive

It is possible to participate from 14 years old and up (born in 2012)

5 K Non-Competitive

It is open to everyone without age limit

10K Competitive

It is possible to participate from 16 years of age and older (born in 2010) in good standing with the FIDAL or RUNCARD FIDAL/EPS membership

4.1 – CHANGES TO REGISTRATION

It will be possible to change one's registration from Non-Competitive to Competitive free of charge until Tuesday, December 1, 2026; from December 2 to 21, 2026, each change will be subject to a € 5.00 administrative fee.
It will not be possible to make changes to registrations from 22 December to the day of the event.

4.2 - REGISTRATION STATUS CHECK

You will be able to check the status of your registration by going to the registration port and entering your registration ID and the e-mail you used during registration.

4.3 - MEMBERSHIP VERIFICATION

FIDAL memberships will be checked by the Organizing Committee directly through the Federation archives starting in November. The registration portal is linked to the FIDAL database; therefore, validations will be carried out automatically if the athlete is compliant with membership and competitive medical certificate requirements.

Athletes with a 2026 membership whose medical certificate expires before December 31, 2026, will not have their registration validated until the club President updates the valid certificate on the FIDAL portal.

Athletes registered with FIDAL/EPS Runcard are required to upload their valid competitive medical certificate to the registration portal in order for their registration to be validated.

5 – PARTICIPATION FEE

For all athletes of the competitive and non-competitive tests (from Km 5 and 10) the registration fee includes:

  • race bib;
  • RTC insurance;
  • medical and technical assistance;
  • official shirt of the event ( while supplies last );
  • refreshment along the route and upon arrival;
  • chronometric service (provided only for the 10 km);
  • bag storage service;
  • any products and/or opportunities offered by sponsors;
  • medal for all finishers ( while supplies last ).

6 – MEDAL

The commemorative medal will be awarded to all finishers crossing the finish line within the time limit of 90 minutesfor the 10 km races and 75 minutes for the 5 km race.

7 – REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT METHODS

Cumulative transfers can also be made for multiple athletes, in which case the names of all those to whom the payment is affiliated must be included in the reason for payment. Registration will only be effective upon receipt of the bank transfer credit.

8 – REFUND OF PARTICIPATION FEE AND TRANSFER

Registration fees are not refundable under any circumstances.
If a registered athlete is unable to take part in We Run Rome 2026, they may transfer their registration to another athlete by sending all the substitute athlete’s details and required documents to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by December 21, 2026, or defer the registration to the following year (see points 8.1 and 8.2).

8.1 TRANSFER OF REGISTRATION TO ANOTHER ATHLETE

The transfer of a registration for participants who have already completed their registration will be free of charge until December 1, 2026; from December 2 to 21, 2026, each transfer will be subject to a € 5.00 administrative fee.
It will not be possible to transfer registrations from 22 December to the day of the event.

8.2 TRANSFER TO 2027

It is possible to defer one’s registration to 2027 by December 21, 2026; until December 1 the deferral is free of charge, while from December 2 to 21 it will be possible upon payment of a € 5.00 administrative fee.

Participants who had already deferred their registration in 2025 will not be allowed to defer it again.

9 – CLUB REGISTRATIONS

Clubs with a minimum of 10 participants may send their list in EXCEL format including the data of the participating athletes. To request the standard file to be completed, please send an email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

For clubs with fewer than 10 participants, it will be mandatory to register directly online at www.werunrome.com.

10 – CLUB PAYMENT

The registration manager of the club with a minimum of 10 participants must send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. enclosing a single payment for all athletes in the club. Together with the bank transfer account must send the list of athletes in excel format for whom has made the payment.

11 – RACE BIB AND RACE KIT COLLECTION

Race bibs and kits can be collected from 27 to 30 December, both for participants residing in Rome and for non-residents and participants coming from abroad, at a location to be announced by the first week of December.

Details of days and times:

Sunday 27 December from 2pm to 7pm

Monday 28 December from 10am to 7pm

Tuesday 29 December from 10am to 7pm

Wednesday 30 December from 10am to 7pm

Only non-residents of Rome and foreign participants will also have the additional option to collect their bib on Thursday, December 31, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Stadium of the Baths of Caracalla.

Collection will also be possible by proxy, in which case the proxy must be in possession of the registration receipt and a copy of the participant's ID.

N.B. Any changes regarding the location, dates, and times of bib collection will be promptly communicated through the event’s social media channels, by email, and in the race regulations.

12 – CLUB RACE BIB AND RACE KIT COLLECTION

The collection of race bibs and kits for clubs will take place from 29 to 30 December at a location to be announced by the first week of December.

Wednesday 30 December from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Each club that has submitted its own list of entrants must designate a representative who will collect the bibs and race kits for the entire team. Clubs that registered independently and intend to collect bibs for more than 5 athletes must schedule an appointment by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

For club collection, a cumulative authorization letter listing all athletes whose bibs are being collected must be presented, together with a copy of the delegate’s ID document.

Race bibs and race kits may not be collected individually by athletes who belong to clubs that have registered cumulatively.

On the day of the event, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., bib and race kit collection will only be possible for clubs based outside the Province of Rome, at the Stadium of the Baths of Caracalla.

N.B. Any changes regarding locations, dates, and collection times will be promptly communicated through the event’s social media channels, by email, and in the race regulations.

13 – RACE BIB

The race bib number is strictly personal, cannot be tampered with and is not transferable to anyone, subject to notification of the change of name, as it is specifically associated with the athlete registered for the event. Bib numbers will be assigned at the sole discretion of the Organising Committee, only to athletes whose registration is complete with payment of the fee. Once a bib number has been assigned, it will not be possible to change it.

14 – CRITERIA FOR ASSIGNING BIB NUMBERS

Bib numbers will be assigned at the sole discretion of the Organizing Committee.

For assignment purposes, the personal best times declared during registration will be taken into account after verification.

Declared times must refer to officially certified 10 km races held between 2024 and 2026. Times achieved in uncertified races will not be considered.

Athletes with personal bests under 35’ (men) and 40’ (women) or under 40’ (men) and 45’ (women), who indicate this at the time of registration by December 5, 2026, will be assigned a bib corresponding to the appropriate starting grid according to their times, exclusively for the first 200 men and 100 women.

The bibs reserved for the first starting grid (non-elite) are limited in number and will not be guaranteed after December 5.

Top Athletes or their clubs must request the bib for entry into the top runner grid at the time of registration. For bib assignment, the Organizing Committee will carry out the relevant checks; therefore, if the declared times are not effectively verified, bibs for the first grid will not be assigned.

Top Athletes are the men and women assigned bib numbers 1 to 20.

15 – STARTING GRID COMPOSITION

The composition of the starting grids is as follows:

  • Top Athletes
  • Competitive athletes with personal bests of less than 35' (men) and 40' (women)
  • Competitive athletes with personal bests of less than 40' (men) and 45' (women)
  • Competitive athletes with personal bests exceeding 40' (men) and 45' (women)
  • Athletes 10 km Non-Competitive
  • Athletes 5 km Non-Competitive

The assignment of bibs for the competitive race will be at the sole discretion of the Organizing Committee.

16 – RACE START

The competitive and non-competitive 10 km race will start simultaneously in Via delle Terme di Caracalla at 2:00 p.m. The 5 km race will start a few minutes later.

Athletes with disabilities using wheeled mechanical equipment (wheelchairs) will start together in a dedicated wave at the beginning of the race (1:55 p.m.).

Blind or visually impaired athletes registered with FISPES or FISDIR, if accompanied by a guide, will start in the grids and waves assigned according to the declared time.

The Referee of the Running Jury will check that all guide athletes wear the guide bib/vest and are equipped with the guide tether; changing guide during the race is not permitted.

The maximum time allowed to complete the race is 90 minutes; after that time, traffic restrictions may no longer be guaranteed.

17 – ELITE ATHLETES

Athletes considered elite by the Organization will be identified by the color of their bib. The first 20 bib numbers will be reserved for the elite category.


18 – INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

The first 3 men and first 3 women to cross the finish line in the competitive race will be awarded. In addition, for the competitive race, the first 3 classified athletes in each category provided for by FIDAL will also be awarded.

The top 3 men and top 3 women in the overall classification and athletes holding bib numbers 1 to 20 are excluded from category awards.

The final ranking will be determined on the basis of Gun Time.

There are no awards for non-competitive races.

19 – AWARD CEREMONY

At the end of the race, the overall award ceremony will be held inside the Stadium of the Terme of Caracalla, where the first 3 men and first 3 women to cross the finish line in the competitive race will be awarded.

No category award ceremony will be held; the related discount codes will be sent directly to the winners’ email addresses when registration opens.

No awards are provided for the non-competitive races.

20 – CLUB AWARDS

The We Run Rome joins the Grand Slam of Running City of Rome which includes the following events:

  • January 18 La Corsa di Miguel
  • April 19 Roma Appia Run
  • November 1st Corsa dei Santi
  • November 8 Rome 15 K
  • December 13 Rome Urbs Mundi
  • December 31 Atleticom We Run Rome

The club ranking will be drawn up on the basis of the sum of the number of arrivals at the four competitive events. Those registered who will take part in the non-competitive tests connected to the events are therefore excluded. The clubs will enter the ranking if at least 10 athletes reach the finish line in each of the events. The companies ranked first by the sum of the athletes arriving in the competitive trials of the four competitions will receive the following prize money:

Company ranking for companies outside the Lazio region:

The company ranking for companies outside the region of Lazio will be drawn up on the basis of the sum of the number of participants in five out of six competitive events. Entries taking part in the non-competitive events linked to the events are therefore excluded.

Clubs will be ranked if at least 10 athletes arrive at the finish line in each of the six events.

21 – OVERALL PRIZE MONEY

The first 3 men and first 3 women to cross the finish line in the competitive race will receive the following cash prizes:

No cash prize (or equivalent benefits such as generic vouchers, bonuses, appearance fees, reimbursements of any kind and for any reason) may be provided for athletes in the Esordienti, Ragazzi, Cadetti, Allievi categories, or for holders of Runcard and Runcard EPS.

An extra bonus of €1,000.00 is expected for athletes who improve the event record.

24 – REFRESHMENT STATIONS

For the competitive and non-competitive 10 km race, two refreshment stations are provided: one at the 5th km and one at the finish. For the 5 km race, one refreshment station is provided at the finish.

25 – BAG DEPOSIT AND CHANGING ROOMS

At the We Run Rome village there will be special stands where you can leave your personal belongings, we recommend that you do not leave valuable objects in the same stands: the organization will not be liable for any deficiencies.

There will be two changing rooms, one for men and one for women.

26 – MEDICAL SERVICE

Health facilities will be placed along the entire race route and at the finish line.

27 – PRIVACY NOTICE

Personal data, the provision of which is mandatory for registration in We Run Rome, will be processed in accordance with Article 13 of European Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and the applicable Italian privacy legislation. The data provided at the time of registration will be used to prepare the participants’ list, rankings, historical archive, to provide the services stated in these regulations, and to send informational and commercial material relating to We Run Rome or its partners.

28 – IMAGE RIGHTS

By registering for We Run Rome, the athlete expressly authorizes the Organizing Committee, the sponsors, third parties operating on his behalf and the media partners to use, free of charge, the still or moving images that may portray him during his participation in the race, on all media, including promotional and/or advertising materials, throughout the world and for the entire maximum time established by the laws, regulations and treaties in force, including any extension that may be made to the foreseen period.

29 – TIMING AND RANKINGS

The timing service and the processing of the rankings will be provided by an external company and the same are validated by the Technical Delegate Judge/Appellate Judge.
The chip will be disposable and therefore will not be returned at the end of the race.

30 – COMPLAINTS

Any complaints regarding the ranking must be submitted within 30 minutes of the posting of the official ranking, first verbally to the Finish Judge and secondly in writing to the Appeal Judge, accompanied by a € 100.00 fee, which will be refunded in the event the complaint is upheld. For anything not expressly provided for herein, reference shall be made to the general FIDAL regulations and the R.T.I.

31 – FORCE MAJEURE / CIRCUMSTANCES PREVENTING THE EVENT

If the race is canceled and/or postponed to another date, or in any case not held for reasons or causes not attributable and/or not referable to the will of the Organization, including the revocation of authorization to hold the event by the competent Public Authorities, the registered participant shall have no claim whatsoever against Atleticom SSD, neither for the refund of the registration fee paid nor by way of reimbursement for any expenses incurred or to be incurred.

Registration shall constitute acceptance of this clause and express waiver of any claim resulting from cancellation and/or postponement of the race, whether relating to compensation for damages suffered or to be suffered, indemnities, or any other reinstatement and/or satisfaction claim for any pecuniary or non-pecuniary loss suffered or to be suffered.


32 – PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY

The member is responsible for the ownership and safekeeping of his/her race bib, the display of which guarantees the right to use all the services mentioned in this regulation and subsequently communicated.

1. Anyone who, without regular registration, participates without a bib, in addition to being held responsible for damage to people or things, including himself, will incur sporting sanctions under the jurisdiction of the federal bodies and may be liable to the criminal sanctions provided for the crime of " theft” (art. 524 of the criminal code).

2. Anyone who, without regular registration, participates with a counterfeit bib or in any case not compliant with the assignment, or with a bib of someone else, in addition to being responsible as indicated above, will incur sporting sanctions and, furthermore, may be liable to the criminal sanctions provided for for the crime of "theft" (art. 524 of the criminal code), or, alternatively, for the crime of fraud (art. 540 of the criminal code).

In cases 1) and 2) the participants may be liable to the sanctions provided for the crime of "failure to comply with the provisions of the Authorities" (art. 550 of the criminal code). The aforementioned cases will be found after checking photographic and/or video documentation.

It is forbidden to enter grids other than those assigned at the time of registration, as well as to throw, inside the starting grids and on the race course, t-shirts, capes or any other object that could cause obstruction or the fall of the athletes they pass subsequently. In case of violation, the athlete will be held responsible for the damages caused, with consequent actions in both criminal and civil courts.

It is forbidden to "cut" the established route and/or take shortcuts and/or enter the race route from a different point than the starting line. Failure to comply with this obligation will result in the disqualification of the athlete, as well as his liability for any damage caused to third parties.

33 – LIABILITY WAIVER

By registering for We Run Rome the participant accepts this regulation in its entirety and expressly declares to assume all risks deriving from participation in the event, such as, by way of example, any falls, contact with vehicles and/or with other participants, spectators or otherwise, adverse weather conditions, road surface conditions, and any other different type of risk. As a consequence of this acceptance, the organizing body and the individual subjects who participated in the organization of the sporting event are expressly exempted from any liability for any damage or harm resulting from participation in the event.

34 – FINAL WARNINGS

The Organizing Committee reserves the right, also subject to authorization by the CR Lazio and FIDAL Nazionale, to amend these regulations at any time for reasons it deems appropriate for the better organization of the race.

For anything not provided for in these regulations, the technical and statutory rules of FIDAL and G.G.G. shall apply. Any changes to services, locations, and times will be duly communicated to registered athletes via the event website www.werunrome.com or through the official social media pages.
